Here are a few examples of our projects…
Benefits Annual Enrollment:
St.Vincent Health
Clarafication has enjoyed a long relationship with St.Vincent Health, having prepared their annual benefits enrollment communications for over 20 years. As the organization has grown by adding health care services and acquiring facilities, our communication has had to expand and become more versatile. When our working relationship began, a four-page newsletter, enrollment brochure and a multi-part form were all that was needed to enroll associates. Now, our enrollment communications include: seven posters, six email blasts, three newsletters, four highlights brochures, three benefits guides, a website with links to plan providers, and education for using the online enrollment system. This communication program encompasses benefits education for job recruits, new hires and those currently employed by St.Vincent Health.
SAP Implementation Communication:
Best Lock Corporation*
Best Lock began the monumental organizational change of moving to SAP, an enterprise resource system. We attended team meetings and prepared regular updates for employees about the process and progress of the implementation. We also interviewed key executives about the company’s short term and long term goals, and prepared articles for publication in the corporate newsletter.
*Currently a subsidiary of Stihl
Retirement Plan Redesign: Bellin Health
Like many employers today, Bellin Health needed to redesign their retirement program to better align with employer goals and employee needs. Our initial project included the announcement of a pension plan freeze and savings plan enhancement. We prepared a series of letters to employees, a simple brochure (easily updated by Bellin) and a PowerPoint presentation (delivered by the HR staff). Two years later, when the plan was formally terminated, we prepared the collateral materials for the legal notifications. Bellin’s goal was to explain the process in laymen’s terms so that employees would understand their options, be able to make informed choices and complete the required paperwork by the deadlines.
Branding and Website Design:
Archdiocese of Indianapolis
Many of our client relationships begin as the result of change. We began working with the Archdiocese to introduce new PPO health plans in 2004. We’ve continued to work with them through many additional benefit program changes — the introduction of a high deductible health plan and HSA, movement to employee bank account debiting for disability and life insurance premiums and the addition of wellness benefits.
Then in 2010 we created a Human Resources brand and website allowing employees 24/7 access to current information related to pay and benefits.
Sales Force Communication:
Ingersoll Rand Security Technologies
Successful sales people are rarely found in an office–they spend their time on the road meeting with potential customers. Reaching them with training and information can be a challenge. We worked with Ingersoll Rand to prepare communications for new and current salepeople that reaches them where they are.
Focus Groups: Ascension Health
Our longterm relationship with St.Vincent provided an opportunity to work with their parent organization, Ascension Health. As members from many health ministries met to consider wellness program designs, Clarafication conducted employee focus groups around the midwest. The feedback is being used to design wellness program features that will be valued by employees as well as cost saving for the organization.
Benefit Contribution Reduction Announcement: Henry County Hospital
How do you tell employees the employer’s contribution to their pension plan needs to be reduced to support the financial health of the organization? Answer: very carefully. And it helps to have a courageous CEO. We prepared an announcement letter, a PowerPoint presentation and meeting materials to explain the change, its impact to the organization and the likely impact to employee pension benefits. The CEO then held ten meetings over five days delivering the presentation to employees. While employees were disappointed by the news, they maintained professionalism and no workplace disruptions occurred. In a hospital, taking care of the caretakers is critical to success.
